Sir,
In the January–June 2022 issue of the Muller Journal of Medical Sciences and Research, Jena and Acharya[1] published the normative data (ND) of sensory nerve action potential (SNAP) parameters of ulnar and median nerves among healthy Indian adults' population. We believe that the clinical utility of the constructed ND in peripheral neuropathic disorders (PND) is questionable. Indeed, peripheral neuropathy might be asymmetrical,[2] and there are substantial side-to-side differences in ND of SNAP.[3] Jena and Acharya[1] regrettably did not consider the SNAPND of both sides. Therefore, such limitation might deter the proper applicability of the generated ND of SNAP in the assessment of PND in clinical settings.
